Some historic accounts cite that Saint Valentine had an Amethyst ring carved with an image of Cupid. Now, that just screams holiday romance! This bracelet offers a sexy, yet sweet addition to your style for a night on the town with your sweetie.
This pairs well with Amethyst Sterling Silver Earrings for a classic look.
Stone Properties: Amethyst has ties to many spiritual properties including protection, purification, divine connections, and the release of addictions. Interestingly, Amethyst comes from a Greek word that translates to "not drunken". This isn't by accident of course. The Greek myth of the god Bacchus explains this connection. Bacchus was angry over an insult and vowed that the first person he met would be eaten by his tigers. A young girl, named Amethyst, on her way to worship at the shrine of Diana, crossed Bacchus first. Diana, however, transformed Amethyst into a clear, transparent crystal as the tigers leapt toward the girl. Bacchus poured the juice from his grapes on the girl's stone as an offering from remorse. The juice, of course, turned the stone purple - thus Amethyst.
Stone Hardness Rating: Amethyst is rated a 7 on the Mohs hardness scale. Note that the scale for Mohs hardness ranks stone hardness from 1-10 with 10 being the hardest and 1 being the softest.
