Stone Properties: Many cultures throughout history including in China, pre-Columbian Mexico, and Central American viewed and continue to view Jade for its talismanic properties inspiring health and abundance. Citrine is touted for manifestation, mental clarity, overcoming difficulties, and creativity.

Stone Hardness: Two different minerals actually share the Jade name including Nephrite, a calcium magnesium silicate, and Jadeite, a sodium aluminum silicate. Nephrite sports a hardness of 6 while Jadeite sports a hardness between 6.5 and 7 on the Mohs hardness scale. Citrine stones are rated as a 7 on the Mohs hardness scale.

Note that the scale for Mohs hardness ranks stone hardness from 1-10 with 10 being the hardest and 1 being the softest.
